Is there really a free tier?

Yes. The Personal plan is free forever for individual academic work. We believe every researcher should have access to good tools. The free tier includes everything you need to write and export manuscripts.

Can I self-host Opus?

Yes. Opus is open source under the MIT license. You can run it on your own servers. The Institution plan includes support and consulting for self-hosted deployments.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards. For Institution plans, we can invoice directly and accept purchase orders.

Can I switch plans?

Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade at any time. If you downgrade, you'll keep access to your current plan until the end of your billing period.

Is there a student discount?

Students with a valid .edu email get 50% off Pro plans. Just sign up with your university email and the discount is applied automatically.

What happens to my documents if I cancel?

Your documents remain accessible in read-only mode. You can export everything at any time. We never hold your work hostage.
