Quick Start¶
Get up and running with Opus in under 5 minutes.
Creating an Account¶
- Go to app.opus.phd
- Click Sign Up
- Sign in with your Google or GitHub account
- You're in!
Institutional Users
If your institution has an Opus deployment, use your institutional SSO instead.
The Dashboard¶
After signing in, you'll see your dashboard with two main sections:
- Manuscripts - Your academic documents (papers, theses, reports)
- Presentations - Your slide decks
Click New Manuscript or New Presentation to create a new document.
Your First Document¶
- Click New Manuscript
- Give it a title
- Start writing!
The editor shows your Markdown on the left and a live preview on the right. As you type, the preview updates instantly.
Basic Markdown¶
Here's the essential Markdown you need to know:
